Pesta Ubin WalkRunBike 2018
Pesta Ubin -
WalkRunBike 2018
The 3rd edition of the Pesta Ubin - WalkRunBike is back!
For the first time, we are bringing another opportunity for participants to experience trail biking on the island at the certified Blue Square bike trail.
Doing Our Part for the Environment
In support of the kampong Ubin’s spirit of a clean and green environment, the participants are reminded to bring their own water bottle (BYOB) on actual event day.
There would be mineral water dispensers (water point) placed in the Assembly Area (start/finish area) for the participants to top up their bottle before or after the walk, run or bike.

Those who did not bring their bottles and wish to hydrate themselves would be directed to the nearby provision shops (less than 5 minutes away from Assembly Area) to buy their drinks.

2 km Route - (Sensory Trail)

This category is suitable for family participation. Brisk walkers would walk along Jalan Ubin towards Sensory Trail and Ubin Village and back to the Assembly Area. If you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of native animals at close sight such as oriental pied hornbills on trees or wild boars during the scenic walk.
6 km Route - (Malay Kampong)
Runners will be running along Jalan Ubin up to Jalan Durian towards Chek Jawa Wetlands and loop back. They would be greeted by the scenic Balai Quarry, rustic kampong houses not forgetting fruit trees such as durian and coconut residing along the roadside.
If you happened to see the locals, don’t forget to exchange greetings to experience the Ubin way!

6 km Route (Ketam Mount Bike Park)

This is a new category for the more adventurous group who like mountain or trail biking. Bikers will commence from the start point near the main assembly area. They will ride along Jalan Jelutong towards Ketam Mountain Bike Park and back to the start point. As this is a certified biking trail, one can expect the challenges on this bike trail. Do be prepared and equip yourselves with the necessary safety guards like cycling gloves, knee or albow guards, etc). Safety helmets will be provided but you have the liberty to use your own helmet if do wish.
What to Do After the Run?
Participants are encouraged to continue their exploration to the rest of the island’s rich heritage and vast biodiversity on foot, bicycle or even charter a taxi van to various iconic places of Ubin after the event.
For those who are into adventurous sport, you may wish to pre-book your water sports that are offered by Asian Detours prior to the event.
